TR4 is a fungal disease that threatens banana cultivation around the globe. Bananas are one of the most highly exported crops in the world and make up a key component of nutrition for people in tropical countries. While some banana species are resistant to TR4, not all of them are, and this threatens the livelihood of thousands of farmers. Cavendish bananas are among the species susceptible to TR4, the disease continues to spread, and there are limited options to control it.
Our company has the synthetic biological tools needed to optimize microbes and/or produce compounds in non-native hosts and bring the proposed solution to commercial scale. We are seeking novel microbes and/or compounds to treat, prevent, or cure TR4.
We are looking for microbes and/or molecules that show activity against TR4.
