The EU is proposing to ban PFAS (per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances), which has a variety of uses, including as a non-stick coating.
We would like to explore PFAS-free alternatives to PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) non-stick coating solutions that can be suitable for application on bakeware products (such as muffin tins, cake spring tins, etc).
What we're looking for
We are looking for coating solutions that are PFAS free. Ideally, the solutions would be applicable to be used with a base material in bakeware of Carbon steel and aluminium.
Our interests include spray coating, powder coating and pre-coating connected to coil production, but we are open to other technology and techniques.
Our must-have requirements are:
Solutions must be aimed at low cost to ensure final products will be affordable
Due to nature of the product, the ability to clean the product easily is an important benefit
Scratch resistant
Recyclable / renewable
Our nice-to-have's are:
Heat resistant
What's out of scope:
Dip coating technology and technique
Acceptable technology readiness levels (TRL):
Levels 4-9
